Speculative Fiction 2013: I’m in a Book!

Speculative Fiction 2013: The Best Online Reviews, Essays and Commentary was published yesterday. The fact that it contain a review of Doll Bones by yours truly alongside, say, Sophia McDougall’s “I Hate Strong Female Characters” or Kameron Hurley’s Hugo-nominated essay “We Have Always Fought” is enough to a) blow my mind and b) give me what is probably the worst case of impostor syndrome I’ve ever experienced — and I’m not exactly new to the feeling.

In addition to telling you about the giveaways, I wanted to let you know that this cool book is now out there in the world in case you wanted to check it out. The list of contributors is seriously amazing, the pieces included are thoughtful and nuanced, and all sales proceeds will go to literacy charity Room to Read. I’m proud to be a part of Speculative Fiction 2013, and I hope you’ll enjoy it if you decide to check it out.
