Who Fears Death by Nnedi Okorafor

Who Fears Death by Nnedi Okorafor
Good news - after a couple of weeks of being pretty much unable to put two sentences together about any book, I finally managed to finish a review! I was starting to worry this day would never come. It’s of Nnedi Okorafor’s post-apocalyptic fantasy Who Fears Death, and it’s been posted over at Lady Business. I don’t want to spam you all with constant “come read my other blog!” type posts, but I thought some of you might be particularly interested in this novel, especially if you’re on the lookout for speculative fiction by writers of colour.

If you want to know how I felt about Who Fears Death in a nutshell, I felt conflicted about it, especially about the ending, but I appreciated the feminist and political aspects and I’m really glad to have read it (many thanks to Jodie who kindly sent me her copy). One of these days I’ll have to pick up Okorafor’s Akata Witch, which I’ve heard great things about.
