Two Weeks in Photos
Over the past two weeks I have done the following: gone home for the first time since Christmas, returned, fell ill, used said illness as an excuse to catch up on book reviews, felt better, gone to see some bands, and felt guilty over all the time spent not working. Things I notably failed to do include finishing more than a single non-work book, and a short one at that (the excellent graphic novel Anya’s Ghost, on which more soon). But because all of this sounds a lot more interesting with photographic evidence, here are a few snapshots from the past few weeks:

The Mountain Goats

Porto, Portugal

Lisbon

Sintra

Braga

Cats were cuddled and spoilt.

Dogs were played with.

Emmy the Great

Bands werestalked seen.

Much fun was had.

...and a single book was read.

Don't know why you've crossed that word out under Sufjan, we've all seen your Tumblr :-P
ReplyDeleteOver that illness, you look to have had a fantastic couple of weeks!
I haven't the slightest idea of what you might be referring to ;)
ReplyDeleteI love your pics of Portugal!
ReplyDeleteThat dog is bigger than you! Love the kitties and sunflowers.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back - glad you're feeling better - and my, Sintra looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you all like the photos! And Kate, Sintra is my favourite place in Portugal and one of my favourite places in the world. I keep telling everyone who visits the country to go there :)
ReplyDeleteWe spent a week in a small village just down the hill from Sintra called Eugaria and another week in on the Duro river a 45 minute train ride from Porto. And 4 days in Lisbon. One of our favorite trips ever.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you're from Portugal!! We highly recommend the country to everyone. Lovely people and lovely scenery. Relaxed and enjoyable. We had a marvelous time and have become lifelong Port wine snobs (fans).
Portugal is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou look like you had a good time at home. I know how much you must have missed your animals. Sorry to hear you were poorly though.
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous photos! I'm sorry you got sick at all but so glad that it passed and you still had a good time over your two weeks. Lots of magical looking places in those photos. Makes me want to take a vacation.
ReplyDeleteI am so looking forward to your thoughts on Anya's Ghost. I enjoyed it so much that I decided I had to get one and offer it for a giveaway. It is a book I want everyone to discover.
One photo is just better than the next...Amazing!! Love those sun flowers, so much fun. So happy you're feeling better :D
ReplyDelete@Nymeth: Yes, you've sold me on it :) Now that we're living in Europe again, doing a nice long trip to Spain and Portugal is on our list. Sintra is now a must-do.
ReplyDeleteOther than the illness, it sounds like you had a really great time Ana. I love seeing these pictures and on Tumblr too.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo montage, and even if you didn't get a whole lot read, it does sound like you have had a pretty great two weeks (other than the cold).
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness am I jealous!! Makes me want to just pick up and move to Europe. I'm envious of your travel systems and the close proximity of countries and towns (can travel for 10 hours by car and STILL be in Texas), the history and architecture, etc etc. Looks like you've been having a blast. And who has time for reading when you have all that other fantstickness!!
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous! I want to go to Portugal now.
ReplyDeleteThat dog looks evil.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Nymeth. It looks like a had lovely couple of weeks.
ReplyDeleteLOL--Bart's comment totally cracked me up! :D
ReplyDeleteI swear I could just look at your photos all day long, Ana. Someday, you really are going to have to show Rich and I all those sights!
Sounds like a fun couple of weeks, except for the getting sick part of it!
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos. Made me want to jump on a plane to Portugal straight away! One day!
Beautiful places! Sorry to hear you were ill, and glad you're better.
ReplyDeleteI think one book is a good result considering you've been so busy!
Love the pics, Ana! I hope I've the chance to visit Portugal one day!! :)

ReplyDeleteSounds like you've been very busy! Beautiful photos!

ReplyDeleteLove all those pictures. Portgual should thank you for inspiring so many of us, myself included, to (hopefully) visit someday!

I love the Sintra photos. And the wings...those are just made of awesome.
