In Which I do the Earnest/Awkward Thing Again + BBAW Giveaway the Second
So, some two years and a half ago, when I first sat down to start doing This Thing in Which I Blab About Books on the Internet in the Hope that Someone Will Come By and Talk to Me About Them Because Sadly Nobody I Know IRL Seems Inclined to Do So, I had no idea what I was doing. I'm not the most confident person, and there were a few moments where I nearly panicked and went to find a hole to hide in, because what was I doing? Writing about books? In a foreign language?! Somewhere where anyone could read it?!?
Two years and a half later, I still don't feel that I know what I'm doing, but at least I no longer panic on a daily basis, and it's because of you. And not because you've made me feel appreciated, even though you very much have. If I feel a bit more confident, it's because of everything I've learned from you, my fellow bloggers. You've taught me to ask more questions, to strive to articulate my thoughts better, to engage with ideas even if they make me uncomfortable: to be a better reader and a better writer. And the best thing of all? Thanks to all of this, I've learned to appreciate books even more. I didn't think this was possible, but it turns out it was.
I've always taken awards with a grain of salt, and BBAW is no exception: no award should be seen as the ultimate proof of quality, and if someone were to ask if the results of the voting didn't owe something to name recognition within a group, I'd say that was a very fair question. But. This week has meant something to me, and it has meant something to others too. Not just because of the awards - definitely not just because of the awards. But because we've all been having fun and connecting with others, and I really think that was the goal.
It still surprises me that there are people who actually read my musings on books, and it surprises me even more that they listen, but I feel like I'm part of something now, and that means the world to me. And because I'm really thankful to all the people who continue to teach me how to be a better blogger and a better reader, let me point you towards some of them. These are some of my reviewing heroes: they may not even know they've helped me (I stalk some of them sort of quietly) but they really have: A Striped Armchair, YA Fabulous, Raging Bibliomania, third-storey window, Stella Matutina, Musings of a Bookish Kitty, Tales From the Reading Room, Nonsuch Book, Jenny's Books. And Dewey. Always Dewey.
Visit these people: they have intelligent things to say, and they know how to say them. This whole thing sounds ridiculously like an acceptance speech, doesn't it? That is not how I meant it, though. I promise!
Moving on: When I'm not reading, blabbing about books on the internet, or being awkward and socially inept, I like to make things. And one of the things I like to make is bookmarks. I also like inflicting my creations on people, and this is where you come in. Here's a picture of the last batch I made:

If you're interested in a set of my homemade bookmarks, just leave me a comment describing your favourite bookmark. Or better yet, link to a picture! If you don't have a favourite bookmark, you can tell me what you usually mark your books with. I promise I'll still enter you in the giveaway even if you're a dog-earer. I'll draw two winners on Sunday and they'll each get a set of two bookmarks. Good luck!

My favourite bookmarks are the ones that you sent me, actually! I could always use more... lol
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your award! You deserve it for sure. :)
This is so very awesome! I love your reviews, and I'd be hard-pressed to think of anyone more deserving. Congratulations!!!!! =D
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your award. I have found you through BBAW this year and I will definitely be visiting often :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your well deserved award! My favorite bookmarks are those my son made me when he was young.
ReplyDeleteYay!! Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteLezlie
Congrats on your award -- you're awesome! And your bookmarks are great :) My favorite types are usually the freebie paper ones major chain stores give out, actually, which I know is weird... but somehow, I love them! :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and well deserved!!! My favorite bookmarks are anything handy that can be used as a bookmark. I had a very flowery pretty one which I was using for a long time. Then my dog ate it! Yours look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your award! You do deserve it, as I said on twitter, I love your reviews. I feel like you do engage more with books and you inspire me to do the same.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite bookmarks are two that my fiance made me. They're off in his flat now because half my stuff is gone, so I can't take a picture. But he made them and they have a picture of us on them and they say "I love you" and they have a red bit of yarn on the top as a tassel. It's totally corny, but I really love them.
Congrats on your award! You deserve it. :)
ReplyDeleteThis was a beautiful post, my dear. And I know it came from your heart. But sweetie, I do hope you know that you really, truly are deserving of this award!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite bookmarks? No question--the ones you made me!!! Each one of them is ALWAYS in use! Seriously. Kitties in whatever book I'm reading to the boys. The beautiful brown tissue one (similar to the one in the picture) is always in my current "main" book. And the purple felt one is in Africa (I've been reading that book for forever it seems!).
I'm so happy you won! You totally deserve it. (And you made me blush and tear up a little. Thank you).
ReplyDeleteI have two primary bookmarks; one for fiction, one for nonfiction (or whatever I happen to be reading as my secondary book). They're both Oriental Carpet pieces. I am teh bad photographer, but I found pictures on the company's website! This is my primary bookmark and this is my secondary bookmark.
My favourite book mark is one that my son made for me a couple of years ago for Mother's Day. I don't think it was supposed to last this long and it's starting to fall apart. I might have to get him to make me another one!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you won this award! I've been keeping track of the books I want to read based on blogger recommendations, and your name is on the list A LOT. Thanks for all the great books you introduce me to!
ReplyDeleteMy current favorite bookmark is a copy of a picture of me and my grandma - weird, huh? but it just makes me happy to see her every time I open my book.
Fist of all, Nymeth, you TOTALLY deserve this award, your reviews are amazing. And that list you wrote of the bloggers that inspire you? Well, if I had to make such a list, I'd absolutely have to put you on it (along with some of the bloggers you mentioned - especially Dewey). So congrats. :)
ReplyDeleteSecond of all, I'd LOVE a handmade bookmark! How sweet of you. I usually use Bookmooch bookmarks, I have one or two of them, or random scraps of paper I have lying around. I don't really buy bookmarks because it seems like kind of a waste of money (also, I'm kind of cheap, I'd rather buy books than bookmarks). But if I had more money I would buy beautiful ones all the time! So to answer your question, I really don't have a favorite bookmark.
Congratulations Nymeth! You already know you're one of the giants in my blogging world, but I just wanted to say again how much I appreciate your awesome reviews and supportive comments. You very much deserve this award and I'm very happy for you!
ReplyDeleteAs for bookmarks, I think I should win some because... I don't have any. I remember where I've left off in a book, usually by page number plus approximately where on the page I was. I don't dog-ear, although I've been known to leave a book flat open (the shame!) if I have to leave and come back relatively quickly. I sometimes use whatever piece of paper or envelope is most handy. But I would love to have a bookmark or several to take care of and make my books look nicer! As those ones would, because they are gorgeous.
You deserve that award, Ana!
ReplyDeleteA year later, my favorite bookmark is still my son's little smiley face one that I wrote about back when Mari was doing a similar contest. Cardstock and scribbles. I haven't used it much lately because it's badly falling apart, but I still love it. I've also added a couple Harry Potter (what else?) bookmarks that I got in Chicago to my favorites. :)
Congratulations on the award! I hope to get to know your blog better over the next few months. I have just discovered you through BBAW. People often give me bookmarks but I tend to loose them and end up using a scrap of paper that is close at hand because I never want to put the book upside down or fold back a corner to mark my page. Your bookmarks are lovely. You could easily sell them. Please enter me.
ReplyDeletethereadingjourney[at]gmail[dot]com
Congratulations on your award! I'm sure you can tell from the sheer number of people that read and comment on your blog that you are a big review hero of ours. Your reviews are so articulate and heartfelt for anyone, let alone someone writing in another language. You are a constant inspiration to so many of us and have done wonders (evils?!) for our TBR lists, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
ReplyDeleteLovely bookmarks, you've inspired me to get all crafty! Thanks. :)
Congratulations on such a well deserved award! I'm truly honored to get a mention in your list. And oh Dewey! I still miss her so. How she would have loved BBAW.
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful bookmarks. My favourite is one that I won from Danielle's site (A Work In Progress) which shows a picture of a woman sitting on a rock reading a book. It's just really attractive.
Note to self: Don't read posts like this secretly at work because you might start crying at your desk. :P
ReplyDeleteAna, you are an amazing blogger and an amazing person. I've rambled on and on about how great I think you are, so I won't drive the nail into the coffin here, but you truly are deserving of this award. And that's not to say that other's aren't--you're right--but you have every right to it and I could not be happier to have seen you recognized here.
In terms of BBAW, this is exactly what I needed (lol, just in time for me to go out of town again). I don't normally participate in memes, but I had such a fun time doing so and visiting other people and seeing new people. It was the community togetherness that was so great.
In terms of bookmarks, my favorite is actually one of the ones in your picture (the purple one). I'm using it right now and LOVE it. I really like that blue one next to it, though. Maybe I'll take a picture of my bookmarks tonight. :) But I'm now obsessed with bookmarks--LOVE them!
Congrats on the award-my favorite bookmarks are ones that I pick up from national parks or museums with scenes on them. thanks
ReplyDeletechocolateandcroissants at yahoo dot com
Ana, I said it on twitter and I'll say it again here. Congratulations on your well deserved award!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite bookmarks are the ones Nicolas Gouny sells in his Etsy Store.
Congrats Nymeth-it is very well deserved!!! You make me want to pick up books that would never have appealed to me otherwise. :D And I feel so honoured to be on your list.
ReplyDeleteI'm a dog earer, but I still covet your bookmarks! :) Actually, I won some awesome corner bookmarks from Amy Reads Good Books that have been slowly curbing my dogearing ways!
Congratulations. Well deserved.
ReplyDeleteOne of my students just made a book mark for me. I've not got a picture I can share, but it has my name at the top. a picture of a Basset hound puppy and the word READ underneath. (Maybe it should say "eat") She laminated it and tied a ribbon on top.
It's very nice.
Yours look great, too.
Nymeth,
ReplyDeletethanks for the kind words about my blog. I also wanted to say thanks for providing one of the best book blogs on the web. I am constantly entertained and engaged when I come here, and I think you have a truly wondrous way of expressing yourself in regards to so many things. You make me think and wonder, and for that I honestly thank you. I do so hope you take the prize! And I also love your bookmarks, they are very nice! I have been getting into making some of my own lately, and I find it really fun. One day I hope to be able to send out every book that is won in a contest from my blog with a beautiful bookmark.
Sorry I am a little late on this...we've been out all day (golfing!). I was so incredibly happy and pleased that you won this award. You are a force around here, plus you are just so NICE. I'm so proud I could pop! I love bookmarks. I collect them. I make them. But my favorite I think is one I found in a library book, of a laminated film strip of black and white pictures of Chicago. One of my favorite cities. I called the photographer listed on the back, and ordered a bunch more, from other cities. But I will always love that first one the most!
ReplyDeleteDearest Nymeth
ReplyDeleteAll three of the bookmarks you gave me are being used! The pink one with the flowered pattern is in Peter S Beagle's short story collection; the lovely pink one with felt flower (my daughter loves this one too) is marking my place as I read through Bluenose Ghosts, and the green one - my favourite, I love the beads! - is marking my place in Samuel Pepys 'the Shorter Pepys'. They are by far my favourite bookmarks, along with the ones my children make, and ones of Legolas and Boromir each from LoTR. They always make me think of you when I open my books and see them, and I smile. So I feel guilty if I ask for any more!!!
I'm so thrilled for you that you won best reviews. Because you are one of the best reviewers I have seen anywhere. And you can talk me into trying books that I otherwise would completely ignore!!!
lots of love from Canada
Susan
Yours are some of the most thoughtful and varied reviews I have read; you very much deserve this award. But I have to say that you got one thing backward in this lovely post: you are an influence on me, along with everyone else on your list...
ReplyDeleteYour bookmarks are beautiful (wow! bloggers are a creative & crafty lot!)!~ My personal favorite is one given me by the College Student after a high school trip to Washington, D.C. The Folger Shakespeare Library was on the tour, so I am now the proud possessor of a laminated & tasseled Macbeth quoting bookmark that contains a 5 penny stamp with the Bard's image and a shiny open book. Of course I don't use it; it is hanging on the corkboard next to me.
Congratulations again, and celebrate a little. You have earned it!
I'm glad you won an award! I like your blog... it has such a misty, fairy-tale quality to it. It's one of my favorite blogs. I want to enter for the bookmarks. My favorite bookmark is one that looks like a jeweled hair clip and you clip it on the page. I actually never even use it because it always falls off, but I like it because someone gave me a set as a birthday gift and I thought it was such a thoughtful gift because the person noticed that I like to read.
ReplyDeleteYours is one of my favorite blogs, and I am thrilled you won an award! You definitely deserve it.
ReplyDeleteAs for bookmarks, I've many, and I'm completely inconsistent with them. I have bookmarks, bookthongs, post it notes, gas receipts, envelopes, and other odds and ends I use. And then I also dog ear if nothing is handy.
One of my favorites though has a picture of the Queen from Alice in Wonderland and it says "Read...or off with your head".
Congrats on winning your award, your reviews are truly some of the best :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for teaching me that when your a blogger and you have a contest, you need to think internationally and specify who the contest is open to, because you never know who reads your blog!
Congrats!
ReplyDeleteMy bookmarks are usually whatever I can find handy...scraps of paper, folded tissues, junk mail, etc... But The Literate Housewife is slowly trying to curb my ways with a few handmade bookmarks. I would love one of yours, though! ;)
jamesandpennym(at)gmail(dot)com
Congratulations! That is so awesome that you won!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite bookmark, but you can see my collection at this link:

akreese (at) hotmail (dot) com
Congratulations, Nymeth! {Hugs} You definitely deserve this award!! I love reading your blog and I always in awe of your writing skills; and let's not forget you're to 'blame' for the number of books I acquired because of your great recommendations!! :D
ReplyDeleteI LOVE bookmarks! Couldn't read my books without them!! I treasure the ones you made for me and my daughter! :) I love them and I'd be thrilled if I could win some more of your homemade bookmarks!
PS: Just wondering if you've received my email? ;)
Congratulations!! I'm so happy you won!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE bookmarks and usually try to match them somehow with the book I'm reading. Among my favorites are the ones my daughters made when they were younger, one from the Jane Austen Centre, and my new favorite that came in the mail today from a fellow blogger.
JQSteve (at) aol (dot)com
Interesting. It's almost like we're the same person. My post tomorrow is a letter to bloggers asking them to do what they did for you. Like you quietly stalked, I'll be quietly stalking learn from you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Nymeth! Well deserved award for you.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite bookmark is one I won from Bookfool, with one of her bird photographs. It's absolutely beautiful.
Congratulations on the award, Nymeth! You are a terrific blogger and reviewer.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the well-deserved award! (I still do not believe that all of your articulate, well-written reviews are in a foreign language. That's crazy talk!)
ReplyDeleteI don't normally use "real" bookmarks, but instead use receipts, junk mail envelopes, index cards, the little hold slip from the library, basically anything on which I can jot down page numbers for quotes and vocab words. So, no need to enter me, as I'd feel bad writing all over a pretty home-made bookmark. :)
Firstly congratulations! I'm a newish follower but I have to say I love what I see. I love reading your reviews. They are long - which I love - and always great. And you being a fellow Terry Pratchett fan is a bonus :)
ReplyDeleteI have 2 bookmarks I use regularly. One is a postcard from Mexico my hubby sent me when we first started dating. He was on holidays and I was on a trip home to Australia. The other is a handmade bookmark that has a photo of my twin boys when they were newborns. Our friends daughter wrote their names on it (she was 5 at the time) and it's laminated. Both remind me of the family that I love.
Big congrats on the award. I know this is just my opinion, but I've come to really admire your blog so much, and when I first started, you were one of the first bloggers to come and visit me. As a newbie, that really means a lot! You're such a great community builder, and you always have such awesome recommendations. In other words, you are totally deserving!
ReplyDeleteYou're just too stinkin' cute...you and Eva, both. If I hadn't been at work, I would've done happy dances for you both today. I absolutely love your reviews, and I'm always gobsmacked that English is not your first language!
ReplyDeleteAs for bookmarks. I have quite a few from my trips to England and Italy, and I love them all for the happy memories they evoke.
I've been thinking to get the bookmarks from Literary Luminaries: http://www.literaryluminaries.biz/bookmarks.html
ReplyDeleteHow cute are the caricatured authors? Would love to win your bookmarks or bookrings. They're lovely. I use bookmarks whenever possible, but if not, the library receipt is the next good one :)
ps: Congratulations for the award! Very well deserved. Voted for you for sure!
My favorite bookmark is a beautiful blue one with a cross on it that a friend gave me as a gift. Unfortunately, I have either misplaced it or my 2 year old daughter who loves shiny and pretty things may have helped herself to it. I have been having to resort to using an envelope to hold my place. congrats on the award and thanks for the contest!
ReplyDeletecherierj(at)yahoo(dot)com
I use the ones that bookstores give away for free to advertise various stuff. I use them till they are thin and worn. I would never dog ear. Your bookmark creations are lovely!
ReplyDeleteespressogurl at hotmail dot com
You totally deserved this award, Ana! Congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteHi, Nymeth!
ReplyDeleteMy first time to visit your blog though I've seen your lurking in Memory's (Stella Matutina). :)
As for the bookmark, my fave (and probably the longest surviving) is one of Genie (from Aladdin). You can see it here:
http://pachuvachuva.wordpress.com/2009/09/17/a-bookish-meme/
Gratz on the award, by the way! You know, Memory really likes the way you review that's why I decided to drop by here. And she's right. You write very well.
Please pardon my English sometimes as it's not my native language. :)
Congratulations again! ^_^
Congrats again on you well-deserved blue ribbon. I'm so happy for you.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite bookmarks are any homemade ones. I like to make lace bookmarks (I'm giving one away this week here), but it's so much more fun to use a bookmark made my someone else! Thanks for this generous giveaway
BFish (dot) Reads (at) gmail.com
Congrats again.
Well done on winning your award. You definitely deserve it.
ReplyDeletePlease can I be entered into your book mark giveaway.
I have two favourite book marks.
One made by Naida over at Bookworm. A lovely crocheted one.
The other is one I picked up in Disney World, which has a quote from Walt Disney on. It is says' The Thing is to quit talking and start doing.' Hubby bought it for me many years ago, when I first decided I wanted to write. As you can see from my procrastination, I have yet to take the advice.
Huge congratulations on winning, I think it's well-deserved.
ReplyDeleteI don't use bookmarks very often. At the moment, I'm using a party invitation that my oldest son recieved as a bookmark. I'm usually using any scrap of paper lying around, shopping lists, reciepts. That sort of thing. But I always admire pretty bookmarks from afar!
Congratulations! A really well-deserved award. I love your reviews; they are really insightful and interesting.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your win - you absolutely deserve it. And thank you so much for the kind words. You are one of my book bloggy heroes too!
ReplyDeleteThe bookmarks are gorgeous and I'd love to be entered. I actually have very few bookmarks right now, so I generally mark my place with the scraps of paper on which I have been scribbling story ideas & fragments. Or else I just try to remember where I left off.
Congratulations. A very much deserved win!
ReplyDeleteMy current favourite bookmark is my signed Rampant one but I always lose bookmarks (a book mark monster lives in my house) so I'm not actually using it. Instead I'm using a menu from a wedding invitation, it's a nice size :)
Congratulations, you richly deserve this.
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! I KNEW you would win!! I'm so glad you did too.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite bookmark. Not anymore. My girlies tend to steal them, so I generally just use a piece of paper. But when I was little, I had a lovely one with a pretty tassel that had a horse on it. I used it religiously!
Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI would love to be entered.
My favorite bookmark is one I have that is made of cord and beads.
Congrats, Ana, I'm so glad you won this award. I'm relatively new to reading your blog, but I love your reviews and you so deserve this award.
ReplyDeleteAs for bookmarks, years ago a friend made a bunch of business cards for free for me (I think there were something like 500 of them!) and since the info on them is out of date I now use them as bookmarks (or for making lists, etc.)! Thanks for the giveaway!
Aw, congrats, Nymeth! I forget you're writing in a foreign language, because you write so well!
ReplyDeleteI admit to being a book abuser in some ways (leaving my book upside and open to save the page, eating near my books) but I NEVER dog-ear. That would just be mean.
My husband bought me a bookmark for Christmas last year because he thought it odd that I was using tissues (they were clean) as bookmarks. That bookmark is a thick carpety soft bookmark that I like to rub as I read.
So I'd love more bookmarks!! I think I'd panic if I lost mine because then I'd have to go back to tissues.
rebecca at rebeccareid dot com
Doing a happy dance for you, Nymeth! I was so excited to see you won :)
ReplyDeleteYour reviews are always excellent and you've made me put books on my list that I would normally not even read!
Bookmarks. Oh I love 'em and collect them. My favorite ones are usually ones I associate with a place or a person. Either some that have been given to me by friends or bookmarks I've bought on my travels.
I tend to lose bookmarks -- I honestly don't know where they go although I think my kids tend to take off with them :-)
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are always the handmade ones though -- including those my kids make for me!
marielay@gmail.com
Oh crap! I almost forgot to enter this giveaway and I think it's my favorite of all of them :) My very favorite bookmark is a little black one with silver stars on it that one of my bestest friends made me :)
ReplyDeleteAnd of COURSE congratulations on your award Ana! You're absolutely spot on with everything you said, but yours is so well deserved my friend. Very well deserved. It put the biggest smile on my face when I saw that...I may have hugged my computer...maybe >>
ReplyDeleteWe love you back, Nymeth, and congratulations on your award! You definitely deserve it. :)
ReplyDeleteHow can I even begin to choose one favorite bookmark? Here's a selection: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3471/3933258066_5bb34b5f40.jpg
Except I forgot to add the bookmark I'm currently using, which MJMBecky sent me. :(
I mark pages with whatever I've got at hand at the moment... scraps of paper, coins, leaves, tissue paper, pens.
ReplyDeleteI used to have one favorite bookmark that had a sweet little mouse on it, holding a goldy-glittery walnut shell at night. I think it said something along the lines of friends being treasures worth more than gold?
--Sharry
Congratulations on your award! I have only come to know your blog this past week because of BBAW and I'm grateful. I have read a few of your reviews and I know why you won. You certainly deserved to. Enjoy :o)
ReplyDeleteYour bookmarks are beautiful. I use several different ones. My favorite is a little plastic gray and white cat that hooks over the top of the page by his paws so it looks like his head is peeking over the top of the page! It's adorable and if my digital camera was working I would take a pic of it but I can't. Sorry!
Thank you!
Aimala127@gmail.com
Congratulations on the award! I liked what you had to say. No need to enter me in the giveaway simply because I never use the ones I have. I can never find them when I need them.
ReplyDeleteSuper-congratulations on your very well-deserved award! I love your bookmarks, especially the blue ones, and the first one from the left on the lower row in particular.
ReplyDeleteI usually bookmark my books with... well, just about everything because I can never find proper bookmarks when I need them. I also often leave them lying down open to the page I'm reading, but I never dog-ear them. That's maltreating poor, innocent books, and I'd never do that!
Congratulations Nymeth! This award is a perfect fit for you and I'm thrilled that you received it :)
ReplyDeleteBut not only are you a terrific writer you're also crafty (which I envy) If you see me with a gluegun in hand, it's a sure bet that everything within a 2 mile radius will be sticky, stuck or melted shortly :P
I'd love the chance to win one of your bookmarks! My favorite bookmarks are ones that I've received from others. All types it doesn't matter, what makes them special to me is that the giver knew me well enough to know I can never have enough bookmarks :)
Congrats! I enjoy reading your reviews so much. You're always choosing an interesting variety of things to read, which is one of the things I like best in a book blog.
ReplyDeleteAs for bookmarks, I have a few that came free with books I purchased from the Book Depository or got with a review book. And I have a few book clips that I used for reading Infinite Jest. I'm always looking at the pretty ones in the bookstore but can't bring myself to spend book money on them :) Your lovely bookmarks would take care of that craving.
Congratulations on the award, it suits you perfectly!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite bookmarks are these postcards I get from a local winery. Every quarter they send a new one out and the graphics are just so lovely.
Congratulations, Ana! I'm really happy you won- you write fantastic reviews :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much for the kind words, everyone! They meant a lot to me. I apologize for not replying to comments on by one, but I got really behind during BBAW and I think I'd drive myself crazy if I even tried to catch up :P But each and every comment was very much appreciated. Truly.
ReplyDeleteTo those of you who entered the giveaway, I have your names down and will announce the winners in tomorrow's Sunday Salon post. I really enjoyed the bookmark descriptions and pictures :)
Congratulations! I totally voted for you. :D * hug hug hug hug *
ReplyDeleteI think I'm too late for a chance at your bookmarks, but I wanted to say again congratulations on your BBAW Award for Best Reviews. I agree with everyone else that it is certainly well deserved, and I look forward to reading plenty more of your wonderful reviews over the next year. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Nymeth! Your reviews are top notch ... and your handmade bookmarks look beautiful, too :) I know the giveaway is closed, but I'll tell you that my favorite bookmarks are postcards - either from places I've visited, or cards I've received from friends.
ReplyDeletecongratulations! you do a wonderful job with your reviews :)
ReplyDeletegreat bookmarks!

Congratulations, Nymeth. A very well deserved award. Your reviews are so insightful and well written. I agree with what you wrote though, about BBAW being so much more than just a few awards. I've met quite a few new bloggers and look forward to getting to know more as I catch up with all my BBAW posts.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your kind words, Nymeth. You have been a huge influence on me, not to mention an inspiration.
No need to enter me because I'm so late to commenting, but CONGRATULATIONS! You really deserved it and it was an honor to be nominated with you!
ReplyDeleteI'm late on this, but the BBAW left me with a huge list of feeds to read! So, I just wanted to say : Congrats!! It's really well deserved! I love your reviews, they're always well balanced and I know I can trust your word :)
ReplyDeleteI missed out on your giveaway because I am terribly behind in my reader, but I did want to stop and say that your bookmarks are wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone - for the kind comments, for the very nice words about my bookmarks, and most of all for just being there and reading!
ReplyDeleteCongratulation Ana! You deserve this award.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite bookmarks are the ones I am using, the ones you made :D
Have a great week :)))
