Read-a-thon

Dewey's 24-hour Read-a-thon is (almost) over.

Phew! I'm off to catch a few hours of sleep, even though it's now lunchtime here. Thank you so much, everyone. Thank you to all the participants, cheerleaders, prize donors, helpers, and to Trish and Hannah, who did an amazing job. If you didn't participate this time, well, there's always next time, which will be in October.

I missed Dewey a lot today. But I think we all did our best to make her proud.

Gratuitous kitty picture - this time my actual cats, who kept me company the whole time:

And so to bed.

  14. You three gals did an amazing job. Dewey would be so pleased and honored by your efforts as am I. This was my first time as a reader (last time I was a cheerleader) and there was something so wonderful to feel connected to people all over the world doing the same thing--a solitary activity normally, but not solitary at all yesterday.
Thank you for all your hard work--I know we all can say we appreciate it.
Rest well--and oh,your cats are adorable!

  22. Thank you, thank you, all! You were AMAZING. The read-a-thon would be nothing without your enthusiasm! Forgive me for not replying to the comments one by one. Ai still be tired!

The kitties: the boy is Pedrez, my faithful companion. The girl, with her head upside down, is Dia. She's a wee bit avoidant, but still very sweet in her own way.

It's funny - they do look tired, but they had spend the previous, oh, 10 hours sleeping like that :P cats have a way of doing that, lol.

  23. Thank you so much for making this possible! I was an unofficial cheerleader. I am so grateful to get to know the other bloggers and that would not have been possible without your hard work. I will be excited for the next go around.

  29. Love your kitties. Mine stayed with me most of the time, more so Morgaine who is my little mascot. Thanks for doing a great job co-hosting and I can't wait for the next one. Have talked Alex into joining in, but not sure he is man enough to last the distance!

  30. No apologising for not replying to everyone, Nymeth! That's completely understandable!

They sound like gorgeous things. ^-^ Dia reminds me a bit of Miyu, but I think you may have mentioned that Miyu reminds you of her before...

I had to herd two of mine onto the bed with me in between to keep them from mock-fighting. *sigh* I am mostly definitely owned by a cat. But then that's why we love them so much, isn't it?

  42. Your kitties are the cutest!

Last year I told myself I was going to join 2009's readathon. Then it happened, and I forgot to register, and I was at my parents' place in Malacca with only 2 books. :/ Next year, maybe? :D
