Book Bloggers Christmas Swap: An Update

First of all, thanks to everyone who signed up! We have over 100 participants this year, which just goes to show how much the book blogging world has grown! This of course means that we’re all more likely to get bloggers we haven’t met before, but I’m sure everyone will agree that meeting new people is part of the fun here.

Remember, you have until tomorrow to sign up. From Wednesday onwards, expect an e-mail from either Dewey or me telling you who your person is.

Because of the large number of participants, it will probably take us a few days to get to everyone. Furthermore, we will e-mail those who will be sending a gift to a blogger in another country first, so that they have more time to get everything ready before the end of the month. So if you don’t hear from us for a few days, please don’t worry. But if you haven’t received an e-mail by the end of the week, let us known.

If you’re sending your gift to another country, we recommend mailing it before the end of November, because deliveries really tend to be slow around this time. If not, the end of the first week of December would probably be a good time.

Once everything has been sent, I’ll set up a Mr. Linky so that you can share your posts about who your Secret Santa is and what they got you. This is of course by no means mandatory, so please feel free to keep it between you and your Secret Santa if you prefer. But I’m sure everyone would love to hear about it :P

That’s everything for now. Have fun, everyone!

  5. Will you remind me when you set up your Mr Linky to tell my readers about it? It might be that a couple of our swappers read me but not you, so that would give them a nudge to get over here and share.

  7. OMGosh...that's a lot of people! How exciting? Of course, it seemed like there was a lot people in on the fun last year, too. Do you remember how many? Anyway, thank you so much Nymeth! And Dewey, too! This really must be a lot of work for you...

  8. You'll hear from us very soon, everyone!

Dewey: I will! I'm thinking of setting up a separate blog with the Mr Linky like sometimes people do for challenges. That way we can both have links to it in our sidebar or something, and it'll be easier to find.

Debi: I do remember: 31 including me, as opposed to 129 this year. Eek! The work is not a problem, the only thing is that we probably won't be able to e-mail everyone in a single day :P But doing this is fun!

Also! I wanted to tell you this when I replied to your last comment, but I forgot. Did you know that the author of The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Stephen Chbosky, is also the co-creator and writer for Jericho? I thought of you right away when I read about it! My nemesis Dewey will undoubtedly accuse me of telling you this in a sneaky attempt to guarantee another point in the blame game, but YOU know my intentions are pure :P

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment - interaction is one of my favourite things about blogging and a huge part of what keeps me going.
