Comments: Ouch. I burned my tongue with the mocha.

Shirley Jackson, I love you, but I just can't read your book right now. I read less than 10 pages and then had to put it away. It helps that it's 3 am and that the type on my edition is small. It's not that I wasn't enjoying it, but I want to do this book justice, you know? And I don't think I could appreciate it properly now.

So I jumped right into Fables! I love me some comics. I'm currently reading and loving volume 6.

Burned tongue aside, I think the mocha helped. I'm surprisingly awake considering how late it is. How are you all doing?

I think I want some carrot cake now. Thanks again to all my commenters. I love you all!

  1. Oh now I want to read more Fables! Maybe on the other side of a quick snooze.

  2. It is still only 10:00pm here, the test is going to be the night and the book has to wake me up.
Wow, you read fast, i am up around 250 pages, but had to do some things today I did not expect.

    later Ana :}

  3. You have the best snacks of everyone around! lol...It seems like you pepped up a little bit. Must be the mocha :p And I hate it when I burn my tongue on coffee!! That does hurt. I'll be reading some Fables later too I think!

  4. Wow, I can't believe it's 3am and you're still at it. Awesome! It's only 8:15pm here. I just got in bed with the dog, the computer, junk food and my books.

  5. Yay, Fables! I really wish I had picked up 1001 Nights of Snowfall for the 'thon. Oh, well...glad you're enjoying it. Happy reading! :)

  6. Carrot cake...ooooh, I'm truly salivating here! Sorry about your tongue...OUCH! And I'm sorry about Shirley Jackson, too, but I think you made the right decision...you want to make sure you read that when you can enjoy it to its fullest. Good luck, Nymeth...I can't believe you're not dragging considering how late it is in your neck of the woods!

  7. Sorry things didn't work out with Shirley, but otherwise, you're doing great!
    Carrot Cake...oh yes...

  8. Yum! Carrot cake! It's great that you are still going strong, even at 3 am!

  9. It's almost 5:30 here. I'm not going so strong as I'd like, but I'm keeping on. We can do it!

  10. It's 9:45 here... you seem surprisingly awake for it being 3am! Fables sound like the perfect choice for the hour. Happy reading!

  11. If I had read Anne later in the night I would have had the same reaction. Some books are just better than others for this type of event. Hope the next one catches your attention better (or is easier to read anyway)

  12. Those small print books are hard at any time let alone at 3am!

    You are doing really great!

  13. You're doing really great at staying up and alert! Way to go!
Have a piece of carrot cake for me, would you? :)
