A Book Meme
I found this meme at Trish's blog, who is tagging anyone who wants to do it, and I'm doing the same.
The rules are simple. In the following list of a hundred books, bold the ones you've read, mark in blue the ones you want to read, mark in red the ones you don't want to read (in my case, because they don't sound like my kind of thing, or because of previous bad experiences with the author), italicize the ones you've never heard of, and... well, don't do anything with the ones you feel indifferent towards, I guess, or that you wouldn't mind reading but aren't dying to.
My results are a little embarrassing. Not only have I only read 22 of these 100 books, but I also have never heard of 23. I'll leave you with my results, and I'll go hide under a rock.

I would NOT feel bad about only reading a halfful of these. Like I said in my post, this list is totally arbitrary! I'm not sure who came up with it, but I think it was just blind luck that I had read a number of them! Some I haven't heard of either.

A friend lent me that book some years ago, and I just couldn't get into it. I gave up after about 2 chapters. But I think it was probably a matter of timing. I should have picked it up on one of those rainy afternoons when you just want to have a good laugh. I'll keep what you said in mind.
I am off to do this now... I did another list like this and had read a tiny number of the books on the list so don't feel bad :)

ReplyDeleteAww, I like The Alchemist. Though I know some people find it pedantic. Yeah, I wouldn't want to read The Notebook either though. I read A Walk to Remember and that was enough Sparks for my life. Maybe I'll do this meme.
